Not for the Faint-Hearted

I believe in Entrepreneurship. At its core, Entrepreneurship presents the opportunity for freedom. Freedom of choice, freedom from tyranny (a boss), and if you do well - financial freedom. And freedom, I believe, is the single value shared by the entirety of humanity. I’d love to be challenged on this!

Freedom is so important to us, that if we break societal rules and laws, it is the exact thing we have removed - through the penal system.

I recently heard that the number one choice of career for American high school kids was "Entrepreneur". It’s trending pretty hard lately; 80% of people can name 3 billionaires faster than they can name 3 Nobel prize winners (I did a LinkedIn Poll for this!).

On the one hand, it's cool to hear that people want to build a business.

On the other, I suspect they have no idea of the

- spectacular amount of work required
- the challenges involved
- the sacrifices that need to be made
- the risk involved in not succeeding, or losing it all

Entrepreneurship is both incredibly rewarding and bloody hard. I think a lot about *the call* to foundership, as I see it as being something that needs to attract you, due to the reasons above.

So, If you or someone you love is considering becoming a founder, make sure they wander into this minefield with eyes wide open!

Cheers,

Josh
